Life Rants:
1. It is Valentine's day. A day to make Single ppl feel more alone than they usually do. But that's why we have fandoms, right? IMAGINATION GOES A LONG WAY.
2. I keep my cat on a leash. Is that healthy?
3. My room is a mess and I really should clean.
4. I love pasta more than any other food. Besides Sushi. And Andagi. But that's a desert, so I'm not sure it counts. Now we know why RP Takki always took ppl to pasta houses.
Fandom Rants:
5. I like that song that Zhang Li Yin sang with Han Geng for the Taipei Olympics. Did I ever mention that I love her voice? Such an amazing singer...and younger than me! *kinda jealous, mostly because she gets to hold hands with Hannie* The song is called Hand In Hand and I liked it, except for the girl screaming out "HANGENG FIGHTING" the entire time.
6. HaHa went on his Military duty thingy. Aww. I like him. He's really funny.
7. Torchwood rants. because if you watched the last eppies, you would be squealing just like me.
Episode 5 Rant:
OMG that ending was lame. But OMG Ianto, I want to KISS YOU. Torchwood. You are my drug. I take you happily. AND YES, IANTO. MEASURING TAPES DO NOT LIE. The one liners in this show kill me just as much as DW one liners. They failed a bit with the last two eppies, imho. I liked them, sure, but the beginning three eppies were win and the next two not so much. This episode kinda lost it's edge with the whole Jack thing and the whole pill thing. I love JB, but him being emo doesn't work. And Gwen's comment...*irritated a bit* I thought they were trashing that pairing? It's weird though. I'm starting to like the Ianto/Gwen friendship pairing a lot...*goes off to find hard place to pound head into* Must read the reviews so that they may gather my thoughts. But srsly, Gareth's acting = <3 The boy makes me just want to HUG him all the time.
Episode 6 Rant:
OMG YAY DEADNESS. And IANTO. Sry, I talk about him WAY too much. And now because a bunch of ppl are scaring me about the whole Jack/Ianto thing not being permanent and that they're going to SO bring back the Jack/Gwen that I'm so scared for Ianto and Jack's relationship *babbles on in a really unhealthy way* Anyway, back to the episode. Martha. She is great in this episode. It's good to see her active and working and getting over the Doctor. Jack bounces so much while she's around, so different from when he's just with the team. Owen and Tosh's relationship develops well, but ends in disaster. Not too much on the Jack/Gwen, of course. Some Martha/Owen, which is actually interesting to see. I actually like their interaction. A bunch of Ianto/Gwen, which I don't mind too much. The Ianto/Martha is really cute. The many DW references are subtly entered and make me smile.
Dialogues that made me squee--
Owen: You and Jack go back a long way.
Martha: Forward and back, really.
Owen: what brought you together
Martha: let's say, we were under the same Doctor.
Martha: So am i right in thinking that you and he...?
Ianto: We...dabble...
Martha: Yeah?
Ianto: Yeah.
Martha: So, what's his dabbling like?
Ianto: Inovative.
Martha: Really?
Ianto: Bordering on the avant-garde.
Martha: Wow...
Ianto: Oh, yeah.
A revelation that most ppl who knew DW when they were growing up has no love for David's rendition of the Doctor, even though I think that he's doing a lovely job of it. Of course, I don't know anything about the Doctor from before, so I can't give a good judgment.
